Tuesday 6th May 2008 - SUPPORTING ANGUS & JULIA
Last night (5th May) Celine and I supported Angus & Julia Stone at the Princess Pavilion in Falmouth. It was a lovely evening and our set went down well but I really enjoyed the main support, Jenny Lindfors. And then I heard her album...I can honestly say this is the best record I've heard this year. I mean, not to pull focus away from The General Store, shes' amazing and deserves to sell a trillion copies of her album, 'When The Night Time Comes.' Seriously. For what it's worth, I don't go this crazy for a record every day.

Details on live shows, promo and stores that will be stocking the CD coming soon.Wednesday 19th March 2008 - NOT LAME HAVE EXCLUSIVE TGS TRACKS HERE!
"For the next few weeks, all people ordering this awesome CD will get a download link at the end of March with FOUR UNRELEASED SONGS from THE GENERAL STORE - this is only available at Not Lame. These songs are: Leave Your Lovin' At the Door, Yes, One More For The Road and Last Four Minute Warning Song.
Tam Johnstone shows what we have always known – he’s a rare song-writer that can stir the soul as effortlessly as we all breath air. The gorgeous strains and influences of World Party, "Harvest"-era Neil Young, early 70s Elton John (well, he’s the son of Davey Johnstone, Elton’s guitarist and he grew up around the band!), C,S,N & Y, Quiver and The Travelling Wilburys are present but filtered purely through Johnstone`s immense talents. This is a very special record – not just because it’s a true-gem, but it articulates a ‘soul-spirit’ few records are able to tap into; it’s one of Johnstone’s many gifts. The wait for this one is well, well worth it. It’s now time to become engaged in being aware of The General Store, but most importantly, being moved by their music – music that is meant to be a whole lot more than ‘just another CD’ on your shelf. TRULY SPECIAL and Extremely Highly Recommended."
