'CWAS' (T.Johnstone)
Previously available as a hidden track on 'Comes With A Smile ' (Comes With A Smile, 2002.) Specially recorded for Matt Dornan's gorgeous magazine, this strange track appeared un-credited since The General Store had already appeared on an earlier issue of CWAS. The fairground noises were recorded on Brighton pier.

'More Dogs For Daughter' (T.Johnstone)
Previously available on the 'Vet Sounds' CD/7" (Fierce Panda, 2001.) This intriguing track about dog porn (no, really) is from the first TGS recordings with Paul Reeve producing. The title came from a video my friends Fen and Dave saw in Amsterdam.

'120 Minutes' (Teenage Fanclub)
Previously available on 'What A Concept!' (Not Lame, 2004.) I was extreemly excited to be asked to submit a track for this compilation of TFC songs since they're one of my favourite bands and definitely a big TGS inspiration. However, I knew I'd have to do something fairly radical to stand out from the the impressive list of power poppers who also featured on the album. Originally, I tried a Neil Young approach to the track (think 'Out On The Weekend') but, then the Beach Boys idea came up. Recorded on 4-track in my mum's attic, this was recorded while I was working out 'Mountains' (AKA 'Mountain Rescue') and apparently, it almost didn't make the album!
"Pride of place goes to the General Store’s dreamily Smile-esque take on ‘120 Minutes’. It’s inspired" - Uncut

'B Side' (T. Johnstone)
Previously available on 'Wizzard Brew' (Wizzard In Vinyl, 2003.) This track was recorded circa 1998/99 while I was still living in London and working with Jaguar. I recorded this and another track called, 'Bang It' (intended to be the 'A Side') on Jaguar's 8-track recorder.
